Electricity is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Without electricity, the world would never be able to innovate. We can say, “The world will be in dark”. It is not a luxury or facility; it’s a necessity as electricity has an important role in our life. We are completely dependent on electricity. We cannot live without electricity; not even imagine. We should thank Mr. Franklin Benjamin who invented electricity in 1752. He was a great scientist at that time. He invented bifocal glasses also. After his invention of electricity, Thomas Edison invented the first electric bulb on October 14, 1878.

Hundreds of years ago, life was very tuff and now technology made a very easy life. In modern-day, people cannot imagine life without electricity. Now the day everything is modernizing just because of electricity. Trains are electric, buses are electric, cars are electric, everything at home is electric, heavy machines in industries are running with electricity, etc.  If we think of anything, electricity is there.

Let us discuss the importance of electricity in our life:

Communication – Now distance doesn’t matter. If you have any communication gadget or computer with internet, you can talk with your loved one and even now you can see them. People now communicate with each other no matter how far the distance is.

Can you still imagine the world without your smartphones and laptops?

Entertainment – People are using television and radio for their entertainment, children are playing with video games. This is possible just because of electricity. Without electricity, life will become very dull and dark.

Can you still imagine your life without entertainment?

Work – Do you know anyone who works without electricity or a workplace where electricity not requires? From white-collar job to labor class, people need electricity to operate some gadget or machinery.  Everyone needs electricity to finish their daily task.

Transportation – Electricity is starting to transform the transportation system in many countries. Aside from trains, cars and other vehicles are now being designed to be powered not by gas but by electricity. This is because it is eco-friendly and it does not create harmful by-products such as carbon emissions. If all modes of transportation do not use gas, air pollution, and global warming will surely be solved.

Can you still imagine that will you are able to complete your journey without electricity?

Health – Without electricity, hospitals would have significantly less medical equipment available to help people with medical problems. Electricity, hence, saves lives and allows people to live longer. All the medical equipment is functioning with electricity that saves people lives.

Can you still imagine that will you go to that hospital where there is no electricity?

Home – Our all the household equipment are electric. From the heater to the air conditioner or from car to toy train, everything is electric. We need electricity in every step of our life.

Can you still imagine our life without electricity?

No, it is very difficult to live without electricity. Still, in some villages and some rural areas, there is no electricity. They are very far behind and they are cut off from the world. Unfortunately, in our country, the electricity supply has not been able to meet the demand for it. Our country is quite rich in natural resources which are needed for its generation. Scientists are racing to perfect greener sources of energy to improve the electricity production as electricity is non-renewable and reduce dependence on oil and other fossil fuels to save the environment because once these resources disappear, the world will definitely suffer.

In conclusion, electricity does everything for our comfort and convenience with utmost efficiency at all hours. 20th century is making use of electricity so extensively that it has almost changed the face of the earth.

Electricity is not a facility, it is a necessity. So please “Save Water, Save Electricity and Save Money.”
